New Zealand government working on ways to improve power supply in the country
The New Zealand government has launched work on a nationally consistent framework to support and protect electricity transmission across New Zealand under the Resource Management Act 1991. HP reports third quarter 2006 results
HP has published its latest financial results. Highlights are:
- Net revenue of $21.9 billion, up 5 percent year-over-year, or 6 percent when adjusted for the effects of currency
- GAAP operating profit of $1.5 billion, or $0.48 earnings per share, up from $0.03 in the prior year period
- Non-GAAP operating profit of $1.7 billion, or $0.52 earnings per share, up from $0.36 in the prior year period
- Cash flow from operations of $2.6 billion.

Bank of America hires Homeland Security executive to head business continuity
Bank of America has announced the appointment of Donna Bucella to the position of Business Continuity Executive. Bucella, who currently works for the Department of Homeland Security heading the US Terrorist Screening Center for the FBI, will join the bank in mid-October. Bucella will lead all aspects of business continuity planning coordination and recovery efforts for Bank of America, both domestically and internationally.
