Major disaster declared for Indiana
FEMA has announced that federal disaster aid has been made available for Indiana to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by severe storms and flooding beginning on June 6, 2008, and continuing. FEMA Administrator David Paulison named Michael H. Smith as the federal coordinating officer for federal recovery operations in the affected area. http://www.fema.gov/news/event.fema?id=9987

SBA appoints new chief of Executive Office of Disaster Strategic Planning and Operations
Retired Rear Admiral Steven G. Smith has been hired by the US Small Business Administration to oversee the newly created Executive Office of Disaster Strategic Planning and Operations (EODSPO). The EODSPO will continue to develop and implement institutional changes to SBA's disaster assistance program that will enable the agency to provide timely, effective assistance to disaster victims. http://www.sba.gov
