IBM announces next-generation storage virtualization software
As part of its ‘Project Big Green’ offerings, IBM has announced new storage virtualization software that helps clients more efficiently manage and consolidate volumes of business data, providing a storage solution designed to help improve utilization rates, energy efficiency, availability, and scalability of critical applications. RMS makes expert catastrophe analysis publicly available
Risk Management Solutions has launched an initiative to keep businesses informed of the impact of catastrophic events by making its expert analysis publicly available on its website. The RMS Cat Updates service - which has long provided the insurance industry with damage summaries and loss reports following significant natural or man-made catastrophes - applies expert scientific analysis to data from a wide range of sources. Information is posted within hours of a catastrophe occurring and is updated as the situation unfolds. Storix provides backup and adaptable system recovery software for Solaris
Storix, Inc., has announced the release of System Backup Administrator (SBAdmin) v 6.3. This now supports Solaris, meaning that in addition to Linux and AIX, SBAdmin v6.3 users now have backup and full system recovery capabilities for their Solaris systems. ASR enables backups to be easily adapted to fit newer or virtual systems when identical hardware is not available. Read press release.
