Fordway wins Data Centre Solution of the Year Award at 2008 Channel Network Awards
Compellent has announced that Fordway, one of its key UK channel partners, has won the ‘Data Centre Solution of the Year’ award at the 2008 Channel Network Awards. Fordway won the award for its deployment of a virtualised storage platform and disaster recovery solution for gm2 Logistics, a warehousing and logistics company near London. Fordway combined Compellent’s SAN with VMware’s platform to deliver a fully virtualised storage and server environment. This enabled gm2 to lower the number of overall drives required and decrease its data centre footprint by a third, while also reducing power consumption and related carbon emissions. Aside from delivering a greener storage environment, Compellent’s SAN has also helped gm2 reduce its server management costs by around £9,000 per year. http://www.compellent.com
