Emergency Preparedness and Response is part of the Public Safety division and will help develop and implement a business continuity, emergency management (EMAP) accreditation, and disaster recovery program for Tulane University. This position reports directly to the AVP Emergency Preparedness and Response and interacts continually with staff at all levels within all practices, departments, and units throughout the university. This position serves as an expert providing guidance to Tulane departments and schools to assist in establishing and implementing business continuity plans, including implementation of a web-based business continuity planning tool and maintenance of EMAP compliance tracking.
Under the general direction of the AVP Emergency Preparedness and Response, assist in the development and maintenance of continuity plans for those department and divisions with essential functions and services which cannot be interrupted longer than 30 days without causing serious harm to Tulane’s mission.
The position will also fulfill Emergency Operating Procedure functions, thereby supporting Tulane in its all-hazard emergency preparedness activities and Emergency Operations Center functions during emergency response and recovery, manage the accreditation program, hazard vulnerability analysis threat assessment information, academic and departmental unit emergency plans and will serve as part of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) staff during emergencies.
