Business Continuity Planning Analyst

The BCP Analyst will be responsible for defining a process to counteract interruptions to business activities and to protect critical business processes from the effects of major failures of information systems or disasters and to ensure their timely resumption.

Job role

  • Collaborate with the Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager to create a holistic BC and DR approach across all of IT
  • Establish and implement BC processes, standards, and policies
  • Conduct Business Impact Assessments (BIA) to identify, analyse, and evaluate the business requirements for IT service availability
  • Identify, analyse, and evaluate business continuity risks to help prioritise and guide appropriate mitigation efforts
  • Ensure that alternative resources are available to ensure ongoing IT operations in case of a business continuity incident/disaster incident
  • Collaborate with IT tower leads and service delivery staff to ensure that redundancy is available as necessary covering people, hardware and software
  • Ensure that relevant process owners are assigned and are responsible for creation, maintenance and testing of their business continuity and disaster recovery plans and that a central plan exists within the organisation to coordinate these efforts
  • Ensure that all systems have a continuity plan in place and processes and procedures are available in a disaster situation
  • Support the management of the overall Business Continuity Planning (BCP) / Disaster Recovery (DR) testing process and report results to the IT tower leads and the IT Strategy & Programme Management
  • Lead scenario rehearsals and provide performance feedback to IT tower leads and senior IT management
  • Collaborate with the development, service introduction and testing teams to produce the BCP/ DR operational acceptance criteria
  • Liaise with infrastructure architects and service owners to ensure internal business continuity procedures are implemented and are aligned with expectations
  • Complete operational risk assessments and escalate keyCollaborate with the Disaster Recovery (DR) Manager to create a holistic BC and DR approach across all of IT
