Three bomb blasts rocked the cities of Lucknow, Varanasi and Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh in the northern state of India almost within minutes of each other on Friday 23rd November. At least seven people were killed and many others were injured when the blasts occurred. In the holy city of Varanasi, the explosion occurred at a local court premises during the busy court hour. Over 2,000 people were there in the court premises when the blast occurred. Five people were confirmed dead and many others injured in the Faizabad blast.
Following the attacks a high alert has been issued by the Home Ministry in Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
