As well as general business work area recovery space, the facility offers specialist trading floor and call centre positions.

Commenting on the launch of the facility, Nipun Mehrotra, director, Global Technology Services, IBM India/South Asia said: “This is a unique offering being made available to Indian clients who recognize the need to mitigate continuity risks that their businesses may be exposed to. IBM’s work area recovery centre helps clients focus on the human side of business continuity to ensure that employees can remain productive even when they cannot access their workplace in unexpected events of floods, terrorist threats, large-scale power outages, fire or other instances of IT infrastructure outages.”

Bhaskar S. Anand, country executive, Integrated Technology Services, IBM India/South Asia said: “This investment by the company in the new centre reflects the significance of the Indian market for the corporation. Based on the response to this centre, IBM may explore the possibility of opening similar centres in other regions of the country.”
