NextPhase adds business continuity services to portfolio

These hybrid wired/wireless connectivity solutions provide network diversity, redundancy, load balancing and failover capabilities.

"Disaster recovery plans often focus primarily on data backups, but with businesses being increasingly reliant on their broadband connections to access hosted applications, to carry their VoIP traffic, and to communicate and collaborate with their customers, suppliers and partners, it is important to ensure uninterrupted network connectivity. Traditionally, companies achieve this by contracting for acquiring secondary circuits from a second provider. Unfortunately, if both circuits are wired, they are often entering the building through the same conduit, and if that conduit is compromised, everything fails," stated Tom Hemingway, chairman and COO of NextPhase.

Continuing, Hemingway said, "NextPhase solves this problem with a hybrid solution that combines wireline and wireless connections, balancing the load by distributing the traffic over both connections, and managing fail-over to efficiently re-route traffic, should one of the circuits go down. Combining wireline and wireless technologies together like this, is the ideal way to provide redundant network communications for businesses, agencies and schools."
