12th and 13th August, 2008, Nottingham, UK
The past twelve months have seen local authorities and other public sector organisations throughout the UK devoting significant time and resource to the development of business continuity management programmes, spurred on by the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act and further encouraged by the findings of the Pitt Review. The Business Continuity Institute is playing its part in supporting these vital development programmes by hosting a Public Sector Business Continuity Management Summer School at Nottingham University on the 12th and 13th August.
The programme will address four key topics:
* Business continuity policy, strategy & programme development in the public sector;
* The development of business continuity business forums or networks;
* BCM culture in the public sector;
* The implications of the Pitt Review for business continuity in the public sector.
The panel of presenters is drawn almost exclusively from the public sector with representatives of authorities that are each noteworthy for their individual achievements in various aspects of business continuity programme development: Milton Keynes Council; Norfolk County Council; NHS Scotland; Surrey County Council; and Manchester City Council who were winners of the 2008 Business Continuity Award for Innovation.
