Telehouse to offer transatlantic Ethernet connectivity

Get free weekly news by e-mailTelehouse America and Telehouse Europe has announced plans to offer their latest service, Global Interlink, a Layer 2 interconnection that offers fast, reliable, transatlantic Ethernet connectivity, to all Telehouse customers housing equipment in any of the Company's facilities in New York, London and Paris beginning October 1st.

By utilizing the power of virtual LAN (VLAN), Global Interlink will provide client equipment with transparent Ethernet communication as though they were connected to the same Layer 2 switch. No longer limited by physical distances or unpredictable circuit-size cost swings, VLAN provides Telehouse and customers' networks with logical connectivity options in several parts of the world, ensuring security, scalability and multi-vendor support for globalized network management.

Global Interlink subscribers' transatlantic VLAN connectivity will be managed with 24/7 network monitoring and service desk assistance. In the event that a customer's equipment requires attention, Telehouse's on-site engineering team will be automatically alerted to provide technical support. Installation will be a minimal, one-time charge, for access to a full-duplex port connection and because it is powered by VLAN, a local loop is not necessary. In addition, Telehouse's web-based traffic monitoring system (powered by Telehouse Systems Observer) will enable customers to monitor traffic statistics, in addition to their circuit status.
