DataFort (EHDF), a subsidiary of the Dubai Technology and Media
Free Zone and a Middle East provider of managed hosting, security
and disaster recovery services, has announced the signing of an
agreement with American Express (AMEX). EHDF will provide disaster
recovery and business continuity services for AMEX’s activities
in the Middle East region.
“Businesses like American
Express, which are heavily dependent on IT systems, always need
a back-up in case of unforeseen interruptions or disasters and to
ensure their continuous superior level of service to their customers
in the region,” said Sameer Sadeh, EHDF’s CEO. “EHDF
can provide AMEX with service level guarantees that were previously
not available in this region, helping them to ensure the highest
possible level of business continuity.”
Under the agreement, EHDF will provide American
Express with work-area recovery facilities as well as disaster recovery
solution design, consultancy, installation and management support.
“eHosting DataFort is one of the market
leaders in the Middle East, not only do they have an excellent understanding
of our business needs, but they offered a tailor made solution to
meet our needs; we are confident about the quality of the service
provided,” said Trevor Stokes, American Express. “This
agreement helps us to ensure that our customers will have continuous
access to their accounts in a secure matter even in the event of
a disaster.”
