Internet of Things will significantly alter supply chain risk dynamics
Gartner, Inc. forecasts that a 30-fold increase in Internet-connected physical devices by 2020 will significantly alter the supply chain.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is forecast to reach 26 billion installed units by 2020, up from 0.9 billion just five years ago, and will impact the information available to supply chain leaders; how the supply chain operates; and supply chain risk management, especially in the area of cyber-risks.
The future direction of the supply chain industry will be discussed at the Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference 2014 taking place May 20th-22nd in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Gartner Supply Chain Executive Conference 2014 will also be held between September 10th-11th in London.
