Business Continuity and Resiliency Manager

The Manager, Business Continuity and Resiliency is a member of the Enterprise Crisis & Business Continuity Management (eCBCM) Team supporting the Canadian Tire Corporation and its family of companies. You will be responsible for the implementation, sustainment, monitoring and support of the enterprise Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Technical Resiliency programs with a focus on IT systems, applications, data and their backup and recovery. The eCBCM Team is accountable for managing the Business Continuity Program, establishing governance over Crisis Management, responding to crises and supporting communities across the country when disaster strikes. The Business Continuity and Resiliency Manager will manage the relationship with technical teams, partner with the Disaster Recovery group and be responsible for developing strategies and plans to mitigate business impact stemming from technical outages and cyber based threats.

Job role

  • Partnering with key IT stakeholders to ensure the integration of business continuity and resiliency strategies with IT system, application and data solutions (with a focus on backup and recovery capability)
  • Analyzing business requirements and IT capabilities to determine gaps in technology capability to support critical business processes and partner with key stakeholders to improve resiliency
  • Developing and managing strategies to address validating business resiliency through business testing during disaster recovery exercises
  • Managing the ongoing development and implementation of the business continuity and crisis management programs
  • Developing processes, tools and guidelines aligned to industry best practices to ensure effective and resilient enterprise-wide business continuity capabilities
  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders to ensure key processes and supporting requirements are identified, integrated and aligned between business continuity and disaster recovery plans
  • Representing eCBCM as a subject matter expert on significant projects to identify, assess and advise on potential business continuity and operational risks
  • Responding to crises and conducting post incident reviews
  • Facilitating periodic reviews and testing of business continuity, crisis management and disaster recovery plans
  • Preparing regular reporting to senior management
  • Supporting the Enterprise and Operational Risk programs across the enterprise
  • Working closely with business and technology stakeholders in the event of a major incident to assess business impact, execute recovery plans and resume normal business operations
  • Providing on-call crisis support on a rotational basis.
