‚ÄčThe Business Continuity team at Baird manages the program which ensures the safety, continuity of service, and support for our clients and associates. This program includes periodic evaluation of risk and control, business impact analysis, business continuity strategy development and review, emergency response planning, crisis management planning, business continuity planning and periodic plan maintenance.

Job role

  • Oversee our firm-wide Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs by advancing the program in a culturally aware style that positions Baird to address and respond to business disruptions in a coordinated and timely manner.
  • Set the tone for business continuity. This includes development of the methodology, driving engagement across stakeholders, and partnering with each department to identify critical systems and processes in order to prioritize business continuity efforts.
  • Coordinate business impact analysis, critical systems recovery, and mock exercise events.
  • Lead, motivate, inspire, and support a team whose responsibilities include partnering with each business area to identify and assess continuity risk and develop continuity plans that measure and mitigate risks accordingly.
  • Work with business unit recovery teams to ensure that plans incorporate all elements required for successful execution during a business interruption. On an ongoing basis work with recovery teams to review, revise, and implement changes needed to keep the plans current.
  • Calmly, succinctly, and comprehensively coordinate or partner with leaders to facilitate a response to manage crises that impact our associates throughout the firm, while minimizing impacts and reducing risks.
  • Understand and ensure program compliance with business continuity rules, regulations, and best practices.  Provide business continuity information to auditors, regulators, and other third parties who have questions about our Business Continuity and Crisis Management programs.
  • Be an integral member of the Business Continuity Steering Committee.  Provide regular updates to the group on the status of the overall program and utilize the committee to review recommendations and implement modifications to the program.
  • Coordinate rehearsals to exercise alternate site recovery, manual business processes, command center operations, crisis management and emergency notifications to assess the firm’s readiness to respond to an event.
  • Work closely with IT to ensure technical alignment of Business Continuity plans and integration of IT disaster recovery components.
  • Train associates, the business continuity network, and the crisis management leaders on best practices and procedures for continuity and recovery.
  • Work closely with the HR & Facilities team to support evacuation planning and life safety education.
