Qatar Stock Exchange leads industry-wide business continuity exercise

Qatar Stock Exchange in cooperation with the Qatar Financial Markets Authority, brokers and business partners successfully conducted an industry-wide business continuity exercise on Friday 23rd September.

The scenario involved a major disaster striking the Qatar Stock Exchange’s primary data centre / center during the continuous trading phase of the trading session. During the simulated outage, the Qatar Stock Exchange moved all critical IT operations and relocated key staff to the secondary disaster recovery site and workarea recovery space while brokers and business partners moved their connectivity to the same, allowing for the resumption of a safe and orderly trading session within 90 minutes. At the end of the exercise, connectivity moved back to the primary site, thereby ensuring the normal resumption of trading on the next business day.
