The case for and against Situational Crisis Communication Theory

Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) was suggested in 2007 by Dr. W. Timothy Coombs. According to the theory, crisis managers should match strategic crisis responses to the level of crisis responsibility and reputational threat posed by a crisis (1). In the following two articles Charlie Maclean-Bristol and Jim Preen put the case for and against SCCT.
