Since 2001 BC Management has been gathering data on business continuity management programs and compensations to provide professionals with the information they need to elevate their programs and careers. This has resulted in an annual Compensation Report; and the 2020 edition of this is now available.
The on-line study was developed by the BC Management team in conjunction with Avalution Consulting LLC and the International Benchmarking Advisory Board. WorldAPP Key Survey, an independent company from BC Management, maintains the study and assesses the data collected. Participants were notified of the study primarily through e-newsletters and notifications from BC Management and from many other industry organizations, including the BCI.
A majority of respondents came from the United Kingdom and the United States and the study was divided into two sections: permanent employees and contractors.
The average base compensation for all study respondents was $110,340 USD, which was a 15 percent increase from the previous year. Only 1.2 percent of the respondents noted being downsized from their position in 2019 while 13.4 percent received a new job offer with a new company and 13.6 percent accepted a new position with their current employer.
