Survey finds that business continuity is the top benefit of cloud

The results of a recent ITWeb / EMC 2015 Cloud Computing online survey show that the majority of respondents see business continuity as the top-rated benefit of cloud computing, ranked as such by 71 percent of respondents. Cost saving were the second highest ranked benefit, at 67 percent, and higher availability ranked third at 56 percent.
Other survey results include:
- 17 percent of respondents chose private cloud, 15 percent chose public cloud; and 32 percent chose hybrid cloud as their main platform.
- 46 percent of respondents believe that their organization's use of cloud will significantly improve their IT ability within the next two years. Only 4 percent percent said that it will not do so.
- Security is the largest inhibitor to cloud, with 63 percent of respondents stating that this was the case in their organization. Integration (47 percent) and governance (44 percent) were the next two largest inhibitors.
