Gulf Air provides details of live business continuity test of operational systems

Gulf Air has announced that the company successfully conducted a three-day business continuity test of operational systems with no interruption to operations. This was caried out to test the business continuity strategies of Gulf Air’s critical business functions; to assess whether the predetermined recovery time objectives for business functions could be met; and to assess recovery plan procedures and team members’ readiness for major incidents, as well as the effectiveness of remote operations.  

The test was conducted in December where recovery teams assumed full control of operations continuously for three days and performed all the required operational activities remotely, including communication with live aircraft and global outstations.

Several major business functions were involved in this exercise, such as Integrated Operations Centre, Aircraft Maintenance Control Centre, Aircraft Technical Planning, Crew Control, the Contact Centre, Flight Dispatch, Central Reservation Centre, Airport Support Unit, Finance, Revenue Accounting, Human Resource, Information Technology, and the Corporate Communication department.
