Oman Air presents awards to business continuity project participants

Members of Oman Air’s 65-person business continuity team have been presented with awards to recognise their ‘great achievements’. An award ceremony was held at the Golden Tulip Hotel Seeb.

Oman Air’s CEO, Paul Gregorowitsch, said: “Oman Air is focused on ensuring reliability of our service and so I am delighted that we have achieved such great steps in enhancing our business continuity arrangements. Not only is this very valuable to Oman Air, but it provides a significant contribution to wider resilience in Oman, an important reflection of our responsibility as the national carrier "to become the best".

"Oman Air has embarked upon this initiative to strengthen its ability to manage serious disruptions,'' commented by Dr Khalid Abdul Wahab Al Balushi ,senior manager government relations and sustainability, who is also a certified lead auditor in business continuity management.

The Oman Air business continuity project involved the training of a team of business continuity co-coordinators and the formulation and testing of comprehensive plans, designed to deal with a range of scenarios. The project drew upon the expertise of consultants from the UK Cabinet Office’s Emergency Planning College. Dr Mark Clegg, the EPC’s head of programs and one of its senior consultants, Charlotte Hems, have been working alongside Oman Air personnel since August.
