The latest enterprise risk management news from around the world

The ISO/TC 262 Risk Management committee has announced that its review of the ISO 31000 risk management standard is available for public comment. The standard was first published in 2009 and is being fully revised.

The overall message of ISO 31000 stays the same, but the new Draft International Standard (DIS) is shorter, more precise and easier to read. A significant addition is a section on the importance of human and cultural factors; and embedding risk management within decision making is emphasised. The title of the standard has also been changed, from ‘ISO 31000, Risk management – Principles and guidelines’ to ‘ISO 31000 risk management – guidelines’.

To review the DIS either contact your local standards organization or pay to obtain the DIS here.
