Alarm, the Public Risk Management Association, has published ‘The risk success story: improving performance in risk management’, a 16 page report comparing performance and progress on risk management from 2010 to 2015 using statistics and information from Alarm CIPFA Benchmarking.
Alarm has been running an annual benchmarking exercise in conjunction with CIPFA Information Services for five years. This has provided Alarm with a unique set of data that depicts how risk management has developed during a period of unprecedented change for public services.
The data shows that, in general, public service organizations have more mature arrangements to manage risk now than in 2010, despite reduced budgets (and teams), combined with ever more complex and emerging risks. The picture is not the same everywhere, but overall performance standards are higher.
This report is an Alarm Member benefit and is available to downloaded from the Alarm publications page.
