FEMA has released a new guide to supply chain resilience aimed at helping emergency managers with recommendations and best practices on how to analyze local supply chains and work with the private sector to enhance supply chain resilience using a five-phased approach.

The Supply Chain Resilience Guide also identifies how emergency managers can use information from the supply chain resilience process to support restoration of supply chains and inform development or refinement of logistics plans or annexes.

The guide is aimed at emergency managers because, while the private sector operates and maintains the majority of supply chains, emergency managers can play a critical role in enhancing supply chain resilience by fostering awareness and collaboration among key supply chain players and promoting actions to enhance supply chain resilience.
