The Government of Canada has welcomed a new report by the Council of Canadian Academies which looks at how to better protect the country’s critical infrastructure and supply chains, amongst other areas.
The Building a Resilient Canada report finds that climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction need to be better integrated. It also states that current risk management approaches may be insufficient to prepare for future disasters, particularly where hazards overlap.
The report examines current practices and emerging actions to reduce vulnerability and exposure to natural hazards through the integration of climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction.
