New NIST publication provides guidance on resilient interdomain traffic exchange

NIST’s latest document, ‘Special Publication (SP) 800-189, Resilient Interdomain Traffic Exchange: BGP Security and DDoS Mitigation’, provides technical guidance and recommendations for technologies that facilitate resilient interdomain traffic exchange (RITE).

The guidance looks at technologies which are recommended for securing interdomain routing control traffic; and technologies recommended for mitigating related DoS and DDoS attacks.

SP 800-189 incorporates comments that were received on the second public draft. It supersedes SP 800-54, Border Gateway Protocol Security, which has now been withdrawn.
