New data shows impact of war in Ukraine on global cyber attacks

Check Point Research (CPR) has released an update on cyber attack trends during the current invasion of Ukraine by Russia. CPR has observed a 16 percent increase in cyber attacks globally throughout the period, with hackers seeking to take advantage of the conflict.

Regional changes since the beginning of the invasion include:

CPR continues to see a rise in the number of cyber attacks on both Russia and Ukraine. In Ukraine last week, the average weekly attacks per organization stood at 1697, 39 percent higher than before the beginning of the conflict, and 17 percent higher than the week before. In Russia last week, the average weekly attacks per organization stood at 1550, 22 percent higher than before the beginning of the conflict and 10 percent higher than the week before.
