European Union and United States convene CBRN Risk Mitigation Dialogue

On June 12th, the European Union and the United States launched the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Risk Mitigation Dialogue in Brussels, Belgium. The Dialogue, which is co-chaired by the European Union and the United States, represents a renewed effort to coordinate EU and US CBRN assistance activities to mitigate CBRN risks of all kinds as well as international proliferation threats.

The EU and the US hope to use the CBRN Risk Mitigation Dialogue to promote improved coordination, identify gaps in assistance, and explore possible joint efforts to efficiently and effectively mitigate proliferation threats worldwide.

The Dialogue brings together the range of relevant EU and US stakeholders, including the European External Action Service, the European Commission, the US Departments of State and Defence, and the US National Nuclear Security Administration.
