Microsoft extends anti-malware support for Windows XP

To help organizations complete their Windows XP migrations, Microsoft will continue to provide updates to its anti-malware signatures and engine for Windows XP users through to July 14th, 2015.

For Microsoft enterprise customers, this applies to System Center Endpoint Protection, Forefront Client Security, Forefront Endpoint Protection and Windows Intune running on Windows XP. For consumers, this applies to Microsoft Security Essentials.

Microsoft is still ending all other support for Windows XP on April 8th, 2014. This means that XP users will no longer receive new security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates from Microsoft.
